BANNERS

The homemade felt banners highlighting our sponsors and carried on the parade route are one of the longstanding 4th on 53rd Parade traditions —originally started by Hyde Park resident and parade volunteer, Stephanie Franklin.

Stephanie's early banners were entirely homemade, with each letter painstakingly cut out in felt and sewn on by hand. They were a true labor of love!

We've adapted our process a bit, and the current banners are made using a Cricut machine to cut out felt letters and images from digital files, as well as commercially printed logos on fabric as needed. They are assembled by hand - still with lots of love. The felt banners are approximately 28" wide by 76" tall. They do take several weeks to make, so if you are interested in having a banner made for your business, please sponsor as soon as possible.
