Hyde Park's 4th on 53rd event started in 1992 when a group of Hyde Parkers led by Nancy Stanek (owner of Toys et Cetera), set out to plan the first neighborhood parade.
Little did they know that their march around Hyde Park that year would continue for 29 years and grow into one of Hyde Park’s most anticipated events. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 4th on 53rd Parade will once again wind through the streets of Hyde Park and finish with our traditional picnic and festival in Nichols Park.
The George Franklin Memorial Summer Concert Series is also returning this summer with a full line-up of free concerts and other events. As with last year’s highly successful 4th on 53rd celebration, lots of family fun will coupled with best safety practices. This summer’s celebration will rely on countless hours from our volunteers and the generous financial support of our Hyde Park and surrounding business community.
Our sponsors receive exposure on both our digital platforms and on in-park banners and signage. Our digital reach alone is estimated to be 10,000 viewers. Previous attendees to our events have gone on to become mayor, governor, county board president, state senator, and even a U.S. president!
